We requested a higher floor and were moved first thing the following morning. Arrived in the evening and was allocated a ground floor room. We stayed at Silverpoint 4/3/13 to 8/3/13 and had a great time. If on a first visit then the property can be hard to locate if your are driving although once you have your bearings then it's worth the effort.
Wifi is generally only available by the restaurant/bar area in the hotel, which is my only criticism being that I travel extensively on business. Oistins is a popular Friday and Sunday night spot for locals and visitors with it's many stalls selling freshly cooked local fish. Oistins is about ten minutes drive away and The Gap just a little further where one can find a great range of places to eat of all price ranges. The setting of the restaurant is beautiful and the menu is of average price for Barbados.
There is an extensive adjacent beach although being located where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean the sea can be lively, which is why the hotel attracts water sports enthusiasts. The staff are friendly and the apartments are spacious and pretty well equipped. I stayed at this well priced hotel near The Gap on Barbados a couple of times during December 2012.
